Here's what you need to get started

All Service Leadership Programs exist to help students learn and build leadership skills. Service Leadership Programs are started at a host site (a school or community partner) and are guided by one or more club advisors. Club advisors are faculty members or community partners. A sponsor is a Kiwanis club or other community partner.
Information needed to complete the new club registration process:

  • Your Name
  • Your Email
  • Your Role (advisor, sponsor, student)
add Name of new club (must contain the name of the school or organization)
  • Example: Key Club of South High School, or Key Club of the Indianapolis Boys and Girls Clubs
add Host Site
  • Name of school or community partner
add Club advisor (a school representative or community partner)
  • Advisor would be assigned by the host site
add Information needed if host site is school
  • Principal name & email (Key Club only)
  • Faculty advisor name & email
  • School address & phone
  • Student enrollment on this campus (CKI only)
  • Is this is a 2-year or 4-year school (CKI only)?
add Information needed if host site is a community partner
  • Community partner advisor name & email
  • Site address & phone
add Sponsoring organization (Kiwanis club or other organization guiding the new club)
  • Kiwanis club name or community organization name
  • Sponsor advisor (assigned by sponsoring organization) name & email. Any individual submitted as a Kiwanis Advisor must have a current background check on file with Kiwanis International. Kiwanis members may obtain a background check by clicking the "Background checks" link on their profile page or by contacting their Kiwanis club secretary.
  • If a Kiwanis club - club secretary's name, email & phone, Kiwanis advisor's name & email
add Member roster
  • Submit roster with payment if paying by check. Email roster to slpcharter@kiwanis.org if paying by credit card (either online or by calling Kiwanis International with credit card information).
  • Download the member roster spreadsheet for reporting charter members.

Pricing shown is for Kiwanis Tier A nations. For those nations that fall under Kiwanis Tier B or Tier C or if you do not know which tier your nation is, contact slpcharter@kiwanis.org for pricing.
  • US$400 (includes a wood gavel & gavel block; member, officer & advisor materials and other program items). Club banners can be purchased separately online at www.kiwanis.org/store.
  • CKI club chartering will be billed per member on the roster, along with district dues, if applicable. Tier A is US$24 per member. Tier B is US$10 per member. Tier C is US$5 per member. A minimum of 15 members is needed to apply for a club charter.
